Hotel Do Mar

First of all, don't be fooled by the claim it's a 4 star hotel, it may have been when it was built but it's far from it now, it would probably struggle to get to a 2 star rating as it is at the moment, the rooms are dated to say the least, the furniture is old/damaged, with 2 single beds pushed together, the TV screen is small (12" max) and old, I can only imagine it was one the 1st LED screens Toshiba ever made, we payed to use the safe in our room which didn't work (we had to wait almost 40 minutes for maintenance to come and resolve), although the room had air conditioning we couldn't use it as the display wasn't working, so we couldn't set it to a set temperature, we were told that they would send someone to fix it but they never did, our balcony was tiny with great view of a building site (which we had to honour of hearing building work all the time we were in our room) and the rest of the view was bushes, there was paint splatter on the furniture from when I assume the room was last painted, when we went to complain at the reception, they honestly said that you get what you payed for, stating that we payed a lower rate for the room, this was only because we booked the room in November 2021 for our stay in August 2022 and for the record, all rates at the time were the same so we couldn't have payed anymore for a better room, the carpets on the hallways are stained, the doors damaged, floor tiles are missing from the indoor pool. Averall a very poor hotel that needs remodelling from top to bottom, they told us that we got what we payed for but to be honest at £371.95 for 4 nights, it wasn't even worth that, don't let this put you off going to Sesimbra, it really is beautiful, I'd just recommend you stay at Sana Hotel & Hotel Sesimbra & Spa where you really do get what you pay for. (It's a shame I can't add the photos I took)

The location of the hotel is perfect, all the rooms are facing the Seaview. The rooms are clean. The price are comparison to other others in the area are cheap. It was my third stay and look forward to my next stay. My only criticism is shower heads needs to be replaced as most of the shower heads are old and there are leaks.
