Get to know Japan
A holiday in Japan is one of contrasts, with state-of-the-art technology in high-tech cities sitting alongside ancient palaces and temples. The streets of Tokyo are great for a wander or to do some holiday shopping. The area of Harajuku is a particularly colourful and exciting place to shop in the capital, and you might even see some of the locals dressed up as their favourite anime characters. Kyoto is often considered Japan’s most beautiful city and has many historic palaces to explore. It also has some stunning gardens, which are filled with beautiful cherry blossoms during the spring.

Frequently Asked Questions
When to go to Japan?
Japan has lots on offer throughout most of the year, but the most popular times to visit are during spring and autumn. In spring, the country’s many historic gardens really come to life, and are beautiful places to explore. In autumn, the same gardens look magnificent as the leaves transition into winter. If you want to ski, then the best time to visit is during winter, when there is normally a lot of snowfall on the mountains.
