Festival Village

we arrived late and check in was quick and they gave us a bag with sandwiches, water and fruit which was a nice touch. Accommodation clean and tidy, housekeeping daily. All inclusive was disappointing compared to other places, have to pay for coffee, slushy's, crisps, bottled water and ice cream for the kids, food was ok but better at dinner. Most of it was not very hot and Very little vegetarian choice, Pool bar shut so its a trek to get drinks from the bar and only allowed 2 alcoholic drinks at a time, so if your in a big party of people more than one person has to go to the bar. Lift broke down inbetween floors and we had to climb out and in the process my father in law had a fall. lift was only then checked by a handy man. WOULD NEVER USE THE LIFTS AGAIN!!! Walk into Laperida is worth it, beautiful beach and lots of shops and restaurants, few nice bars on the way. Bus service is very good and bus stop outside the appartments. No bank machine untill you get the bus to Salou, bus is 3 euro, definately have food in the Last Orders, food is fantastic and friendly bar. Blue nose 11 beside the Last orders is a fantastic wee friendly bar with good prices. Mosquitos are rife here so take protection. Wouldn't stay here again, would stay in Salou itself. Bus to Tarragona is expensive, its a big city with lots of roman history and archeological factors, advice to take the tours as everything is well spread out and you could walk for hours trying to find everything.

Awful from the start. Arrived around 10am and was told I couldn’t check in til midday, no problem. Returned at midday to be told my room still wasn’t ready. Went back a few hours later collected my key. The room was grim.. it smelt of damp mop and buckets. There was a small double and a camp bed with a mattress I wouldn’t let a dog sleep on. I got moved rooms after 2 days.. the manager was rude and uncooperative. The staff weren’t friendly or helpful. Kids club wasn’t great. No music or activities around the pool. I have never stayed in a resort where there is security guards in the evening because the clientele get so drunk and rowdy. My toilet was not cleaned once. Room Floors are dirty your left with black feet! The evening entertainment was really poor, microphones so loud in there I couldn’t sit in there. In the whole a really disappointing holiday here, definitely wouldn’t return.
