Standing proud on the banks of the Bacchiglione River, it’s packed with attractive arcaded streets, Roman ruins and neoclassical architecture. There are churches, art galleries and parks galore, but the star attraction’s the Scrovegni Chapel, with its priceless frescoes by Giotto.
