The United Arab Emirates – or UAE - is the new kid on the holiday circuit. Occupying the southern horn of the Persian Gulf, just seven hours’ flight away, it is made up of seven states, called emirates, each with a unique story to tell but all with toasty year-round sunny climes. Don’t forget the other five emirates - Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain as they deserve a look in. Adrenaline junkies will love Ras Al Khaimah’s zipline, the World’s Longest, stretching 2.83 kilometres down from the Jebel Jais mountain while Fujairah offers time-out with a more laid-back beach scene – the diving and snorkelling here is top notch in the Gulf of Oman.
