Aside from the star-of-the-show beaches, there’s plenty to see and do. The six-kilometre-long promenade is the best place to see the sights at your own pace.

Friendly restaurants and inviting bars line the waterfront, giving you dinner dilemmas and putting you in a daily lunch limbo. And there are shops ranging from cute and quirky to high-end. There's even a twice-weekly market, where you can pick up delicious local treats and fresh goodies to enjoy.

Head over to nearby Fuerteventura to see what the volcanic sister island has to offer or get off the beaten track by visiting an uninhabited, unspoilt island. You can also hop in the car and trundle up the coastline, heading to the wild west side or the lively east coast.
