A perfectly acceptable hotel regarding accommodation with good sized, well-maintained and clean rooms. The reception staff were extremely helpful and they made a number of telephone calls on my behalf to locate the crematorium where my friend was being cremated ( I had travelled to Chester from Somerset specifically to attend a funeral but had left the details of where it was to take place at home). The only negative was the evening meal. I had planned to eat an evening meal in Chester City Centre but later changed my mind. On my return to the hotel I tried to book a table but the restaurant was fully booked until quite late at night. The staff suggested I ate in the bar and I duly ordered a meal there. Three quarters of an hour later itf finally arrived with no explanation for the delay although it was obvious that the hotel was very busy and could not cope. That one disappointment aside, it was ideal for my purposes and I would use it again. I would say however that it is some distance from the centre of Chester and a car is vital if one does not want to be restricted to the hotel ( which might explain why the restaurant was so busy ).
Top Tip: If you are planning to eat in the hotel dining room book a table when you check in
