Upon booking this hotel for our holiday accommodation, like every good holiday maker we use the reviews here on trip advisor to help us gauge whether this was for us. All of the reviews were really positive stating that this was a lovely hotel. However there were a few issues with our holiday where we genuinely felt let down whilst staying which is stated below:-

Lacked the personal touch.... When we checked in on our arrival, we were told we had a garden room, however when we were taken to our room there was no garden view, just a view of the communual walkway, the room offered no privacy and as a married couple (Celebrating our anniversary when we checked in!) we had been given 2 seperate beds. The room wasn't particularly nice with only one entrance & felt very much like a hobbit hole. We explained to Michael in reception (Who was very patient) that we wanted a room which offered some privacy as well as a double bed, we where then shown a further x3 rooms until we found a room which suited. Overall this took 90 minutes which at this time to be honest we were just happy to take any room and somewhat lost the will to live. We were also not informed that this hotel was undergoing renovation works, a large section of the hotel was being renovated, whilst this did not cause any issues, it severly hindered the options available for room choice.

We explained again we were disappointed as this was our wedding anniversary and really didn't want to be spending it hopping from room to room. Whilst the hotel staff offered both their apologies for inconvenience as well as congratulations for our anniversary, it was nothing more than a verbal gesture, very much an under delivery on the part of the staff.

Whilst the staff were always polite & helpful, I genuinelly felt that they never went above & beyind. My personal advice would be to always ask the patron upon check in to see if they're here for a particular event, that way they'd be in a position to promise nothing but over deliver.

Very poor value for money for b&b customers..... We generally always take a b&b option when checking in to any hotel, as we like to spend our evenings away from the hotel & explore local eateries. This leaves us brekkie which is included as well as fending for ourselves when by the beach or the pool. Whilst you expect drinks to be generally a tad over priced I was very shocked by the price of the food. x4 King Prawns & Chips.... £18.00! Seafood salad which was advertised as the salad of the day (quantity was smaller than a cereal bowl) £6.50! Spaghetti Bolognese at £15 & finally £1.50 per scoop of ice cream! Whilst S Class is highly spoken of, we approached reception and asked about the possibility of upgrading the S Class, however we were told its an additional $220 per night for a couple! Given we were staying for 12 nights we felt that offered very poor value for money & would triple the price of the stay, also no provisions were given to existing patrons wanting to upgrade. Strangely though, the eateries within Soho Square offered patrons of the Savoy 25% discount on food, so we generally ate away from the hotel as much as we could, either that or looking at the cheaper more value for money offerings on the food menus. I provided feedback in one of the comments cards and with no discretion whatsover, the staff all gathered round to read this & several times I was glanced at unfavourably for suggesting the food was overpriced!

No free water, not even in the rooms, we've stayed x3 times in Sharm, first time in Hilton Sharm Dreams & second time in Hyatt Regency, both stays there you had x2 bottles of water in the room every day, with the Savoy there was nothing and water at all times had to be purchased, given the fact the weather was in the 40's every day, I thought this was a poor show personally.

No free WIFI within the hotel, again a basic missing point, WIFI could be purchased at $5 per hour!! but other than that there was no free WIFI within the hotel, whilst this isn't a request for everyone, given the fact we live in a digital age centred around smartphones I do feel the Savoy Hotel are missing a trick. Ironically though, Soho square has free WIFI... Another reason to not stay in the hotel!

Our guest relation named Larissa did approach us on us last evening at the hotel, we provided the same feedback to her (As well as a lot more). She did try her best and arranged for some fruit, two glassesd of Champagne as well as an anniversary cake (12 days later!) but for me it was too little too late to be honest.

Overall I was very underwhelmed with the Savoy, given the brand identity my expectations were high but they were never really met. Had this been an S Class holiday then I feel our experience would've differed. As mentioned, we had a fantastic holiday in the guise of a hotel with three amazing pools & better facilties away from the hotel, weather was everything you could of hoped for so this didn't hinder our holiday.

What I wouod say is, given the fact there are so many great calibre hotels in Sharm, the Sovay does nothing to leverage itself above any of these, in fact what we encountered at the Hyatt & Hilton far outweighed anything what was offered here. Reallistically, holiday packages to the Savoy should only be sold S Class, no B&B options as it offers zero value for money.

So lastly again to stress, If you've booked S Class, you'll have an amazing time, if you haven't then you can expect no provisions from the Savoy Hotel and you'll be made to feel like your steerage class.

Top Tip: Do not sell B&B holiday options!
