The hotel is beautifully appointed. Spacious, warm and welcoming, it is a charming example of a Lake District country hotel, and in my opinion, merits more than the three star rating. The public rooms are comfortable, our own room was well laid out, with good period furniture, and we could have slept much longer in the large soft bed. The food quality was fine, and the added bonus for guests was the marvellous views over the Lake. We would definitely go there again.
