Laurel House

Laurel House is owned and run by husband and wife team Jeff & Alex Fazal. Built in 1750,it is a traditional Cumbrian farmhouse, where we offer a warm welcome and a comfortable and tranquil stay to the discerning traveller.

Our three spacious bedrooms have either a Kingsize or Superkingsize bed, complete with top quality Egyptian bedding, and a private bathroom or shower room with large luxury towels, heated towel rails and quality toiletries.

Each room has a flatscreen TV, hairdryer, safe, trouser press, radio alarm clock, tea/coffee facilities as standard along with a comfortable sitting area complete with tub armchairs and footstools.

Alex's traditional Cumbrian breakfasts, along with Jeff's homemade bread, won a Visit Britain Breakfast Award in 2010, and are served in our Orangery conservatory.

They consist of fresh fruit, locally sourced quality produce, fresh coffee/breakfast tea and a vegetarian option is available.

The comfort and ambience of Laurel House was recognised in 2010 with a Visit Britain 4 Star Gold Award, and the prestigous award of 5 Stars in 2011.

A Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence was awarded in 2013.

Laurel House is ideally situated for visiting family who are at Center Parcs, or as a stopover on the way to Scotland.

Free WiFi and limited off road parking is available.

We regret that we cannot accommodate children under 16, or pets, and we cannot offer a night porter service, so all doors are locked at 23.30 for the comfort of all guests..
