One of the last Grand Hotels in Basel. The hotel oozes class and refinement, the rooms are wonderfully appointed, if you can afford the extra get a river room. The bar and its terrace look out over the busy working river. The hotel is situated in the middle of Basel allowing you to walk in to the town to shop, eat or have a drink. In the evening, the hotel bar is one of the places to be seen. The hotel has 3 restaurants, 2 in the hotel and a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant, just a 2 minute walk up the street. Again this restaurant attracts some of the wealthy families from Basel and the surrounding area. A tip, book early and ask for a window seat.

Fantastic hotel to be thoroughly recommended. Right from arrival all the staff, from concierges to receptionists to chamber maids to waiting staff were all excellent! Wonderful restful time.
