Since the take-over by Marco Pierre White the downstairs has been substantially remodelled. It is quite smart, but feels less cosy and inviting than on our previous visit four or five years ago. The food was good, but not great, and probably a little over-priced. The bedrooms are in need of upgrading and we understand that work is to be carried out on them this winter. Service was both efficient and friendly.
