The Isle of Wight is especially popular in the spring and the summer months. Between May and September the weather is great for sunbathing but not too hot for sightseeing, with temperatures around 14°C. Less crowded than the north, the atmosphere is relaxed and slow-paced. You can take a romantic stroll along the stunning coastline before heading to one of the high-end seaside restaurants.If you really want to be immersed in the Isle of Wight’s natural environment, book a hotel in Yarmouth on the west side. It’s the least developed area, but the rugged coastal walks along the eroding cliff edges offer some of the best scenery on the isle.For a bustling town, look for hotels in Newport or Ryde. You won’t be short of things to do, with plenty of cinemas, restaurants and bars. Ryde in particular is great for kids, with a large beach and seafront featuring a bowling alley and canoe lake.To appreciate Isle of Wight’s high-end seaside properties, hotels in Bembridge or St Helen’s are the place to be. Located on the east of the isle, these villages sit on either side of Bembridge Harbour, a great place to watch luxury boats come and go. For those wanting to get active, you can go horse riding or gliding, and there are plenty of water sports to try.
