“ The Sonesta is very clean and comfortable, excellent value with great views across the Charles River. The T (subway) is accessible (but is a 5-10 minute walk).
“ Top Tip: Opposite the hotel is a shopping mall with a variety of restaurants and the Museum of Science is also nearby.

The Hotel Royal Sonesta is a fine hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were at first unhapy with our room but they changed it straight away and we had a lovely room overlooking the Charles River. Also, as we were staying 12 nights they offered us a complementary fridge for our room which was really useful.
We had a free Charles River Cruise, free bike hire and free ice cream during the hotel's summer fest. I would highly recommend this hotel and the service was excellent. The pool and sun terrace are also lovely with complementary towels available. Boston is a lovely city with lots to do and for those who don't want to do the usual car hire, the local commuter train service (North Station) is very good and Rockport, Salem and Concord are well worth a visit. Also the trolley tours in Boston (hop on/off service for 2 days) plus river or harbour cruise is really good.
We also had a hiccup with Hotel Connect going out of business a few weeks before travel but it was sorted out and our booking was taken over by TotalStay pretty smoothly. I would advise any traveller to check on their booking direct with hotel before travel however - just for peace of mind. All in all a brilliant holiday and very good value for money.
“ Top Tip: For history lovers the USS Constitution is really interesting and a lovely old ship. Free tour with US Navy guide. Highly recommend. Quincy Market and New England Aquarium also well worth a visit. The commuter rail (North Station) is useful for visiting Salem, Rockport and Concord. Lots of joggers and cyclers in Boston - so great outdoor city especially along Charles River.

“ The hotel was great, guest services did all they could to help make our stay pleasant, the room was big enough for the whole family (including 2 teenagers), the pool is lovely. Very helpful to have a safe in the room and the air conditioning unit in the room (not under the window) is a good idea.
“ Top Tip: There aren't many restaurants that serve breakfast in the area but there is aStarbucks in the Galleria shopping mall across the road
