“ We arrived around 5pm by car (parking was no problem) on a cold and extremely windy Thursday in early December. We were greated by a very nice lady on the reception desk who kindly arranged for one of the staff to help us to our room with our luggage. The double room was beautifully fitted-out with thick curtains, carpets and nice furniture. There was an on-suite shower-room and a turret-window overlooking Edinburgh City. The only thing we could say is that the room was 'rather cold' and we had to use the extra cover that was supplied with the large bed. We then had an excellent, reasonably priced, meal in the warm and comfortable bistro lounge before returnng to the lounge-bar for a drink, to pass the rest of the evening. The full Scottish breakfast was also very good with all the trimmings. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole hotel was very clean and tidy. It cost £70 for the room which was booked through Travel Republic a few hours earlier, and which we we thought was very reasonable. We would certainly consider this hotel next time we visit Edinburgh.
