“ This is a superb family hotel; spacious clean rooms, best equipped kitchen I have ever had in a self catering set up (kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc etc) and all these items were clearly brand new.

The Cala d’Or Playa Apartments are in a quiet residential area just a 5 minute walk from Cala Esmeralda beach, so kids can make good use of their buckets and spades. Plus, the property is only a 10 minute walk from the Cala Gran beach in the other directions and the restaurants of Cala d’Or, so you’re sorted when you want to eat out.
At the apartments themselves, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.
There’s a spacious swimming pool, with lots of sun loungers to relax on.
Little ones, meanwhile, have free rein of a splash park and an adventure playground.
There is a pool and lounge bar open from 8.30 a.m. until Midnight or later.
As far as accommodation is concerned, the rooms are spacious and smart with large balconies/terraces (approx 12m2).
The well-equipped kitchenettes have everything you need to cook your own meals and the nearest supermarket is just a five-minute walk away, so you can stock up on supplies.
The local bus stop is also about 100 metres away giving you access to many other points on the Island.

Resort Information
One of Majorca’s most stylish resorts, this marina-centred community is high on the island’s rich-and-famous list.
Spread around seven south-eastern coves and comprised of whitewashed apartments, villas and restaurants, its epicentre is a glittering, yacht-filled marina. With its stylish, small-town feel, it’s a lovely place to lose a few hours. Browse for souvenirs at the galleries, boutiques and leather and ceramic shops before relaxing at a waterside café. Then enjoy a leisurely lunch or chilled cocktail as you watch the world go by.
When you’re not pottering and people-watching, cherry-pick from the resort’s popular beaches. The main cove of Cala Gran fronts the pedestrianised centre and offers stunning yellow sands, sunbeds and pedalos for enjoying the safe, clear waters. Further on, the cove of Cala Llonga borders the marina, making it ideal if you want water’s edge restaurants right on tap. And if you’re particularly fussy, take a brief saunter in either direction to discover the five other coves, each as alluring as the last.
Next up, why not succumb to the sightseeing urge? Travel to Palma, where a chic marina rubs shoulders with an atmospheric old town crowded with shops, galleries and traditional tapas bars. Or disappear into the countryside to uncover romantic villages.
By night though, it’s hard to beat Cala d’Or. Settle at a starlit restaurant for a dinner of chargrilled fish accompanied by a fine local wine. And then live it up at the sociable, but never frenetic bars and discos.

The hotel / apartments was lovely - very clean, comfortable beds, friendly helpful staff. There were a few more children round than we expected at the time of year we went (non school holidays) but it wasn't crowded. Not sure we would like to be there in the height of the season.
We didn't partake in the entertainment, so can't comment.
The food wasn't wonderful - we had two breakfasts, which had obviously been sitting around for a while - they were barely warm, and had definitely been cooked for a while.
Had one evening meal - supposed to be a Spanish fish stew. It was lumps of fish, a couple of prawns and mussels, with a 'tin' of some sort of tasteless sauce poured over it. Not good for the price. Also, barely warm.
Having said that, if you self-catered, or ate out all the time, the hotel is in a lovely position and we would use it again if ever in Majorca - and out of season :-)
“ Top Tip: Loved the Marina - had a lovely lunch at Portofino.
