  • Beautiful hotel, in a fantastic location right next to the beach. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are rather small for a 5 star hotel going on past experience. We had a family room which consisted of two adjoining small rooms but the balconies were separate which was inconvenient.

  • Very good reception staff. Clean and pleasant ambience. Lovely pool area, though there were areas cordoned off for some works going on and the pool water itself was so freezing I couldn't swim in it for more than 30 seconds.

No way is this a 5* Hotel as it currently stands - maybe it was when first built but that was decades ago.
One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the (supposedly) heated swimming pool. However the water was way too cold to swim in and the hotel staff really didn't seem to care that it was virtually empty for most of the time.
If the hotel was billed as 3* then we would have felt it was a reasonable deal but at 5* prices it was pretty poor.

Top Tip: Good restaurant nearby called Mister Romeo (Italian)

We had a family room which consisted of two adjoining small rooms but the balconies were separate which was inconvenient. However, we didn't spend much time in the rooms so it wasn't a major issue. The food was delicious, really good quality, and the reception staff all very helpful.

Very good reception staff. Clean and pleasant ambience. Lovely pool area, though there were areas cordoned off for some works going on and the pool water itself was so freezing I couldn't swim in it for more than 30 seconds. The food was ok, but rather oiley and when it ran low, even if you weren't that late going to breakfast or dinner, it wasn't replenished and on a number of days we had to go without items. The evening entertainment was very tame and more for the older clientele. There were some bars within walking distance, but ladies put your heels away as the rough promanade will ruin them and you'll turn your ankle. We made a trip to Arricife on the local bus, it was ok for a walk, but a bit shabby. We were lucky with the weather, and though windy came back with a good tan. I would recommend going B & B or room only and one week was long enough for a blast of warmth during the winter months.

Top Tip: If you like an unspoilt long walk on a sandy beach and some privacy in the sand dunes and don't mind that it's a bit of a one horse town kinda place get on a bus and go to Famara, it's fab
