“ We liked the location of this hotel above a sandy beach and about 30mins walk from the huge and stunning Sotavento Beach. However there are not many nearby bars and the evening hotel entertainment was very poor. We were there 10 days and the best supported show was a parrot show........ need I say more?
There were many different nationalities but unlike other Canarian hotels we've stayed in they did not mix in together. I think this was partly due to the huge echoing bar which despite the friendly staff had the atmosphere of a railway station.
On the plus side the hotel was clean and food excellent with amazing choice.

“ A top class hotel made a wonderful holiday. From the moment we arrived we had nothing but praise.

Spanish or German are the more common languages spoken, but we managed to get by with minimal problems. Staff were all very attentive and helpful which overcame any language difficulties and caused a couple of laughs....

Room was a good size, clean and in good order, we had a beautiful view over the sea and got the sun in the morning which was pure bliss.

We were H/B and can only say the food range was amazing - both breakfast and dinner. They provided a good range of buffet food (even having a special diet section.) and one had a vast range to choose from be it cold or hot.

The beach is right on the doorstop where there are sunbeds (not part of the hotel and a fee is payable). Beach is white sand (as are all the beaches in the area) and used by both naturists and textile swimmers (as are all the beaches in the area).

Costa Calma does not have much in the line of night life - i.e it has a disco. The hotel has it's own animation team though and every night they had some form of entertainment or the other on (we didn't go to any, so can't comment further, however would say it is safe to say it would have been in Spanish or German.).

This Hotel is highly recommended for - location to beach, friendliness, variety of food and quality. We would certainly like to go back!

“ Very good overall, with efficient and friendly service and very close to the beach. Weak points:
1) Can be very noisy up to 1 am if your room is close to the outdoors "theatre"
2) Daytime entertainment caters mainly for the Italian crowd
3) Night time entertainment is below average, with ineffective attempts to use up to 5 languages to address the public
4) Food is good but not great, variety is somewhat limited

“ Top Tip: All beaches in Fuerteventura are great, worth renting a car and traveling North to South on the Eastern coast, if you are OK with gravel mountain roads, the undeveloped beach at Cofete on the Western coast is well worth a visit.

The Safari Park nature reserve 10 minutes North of the hotel is also worth visiting.
