We spent two weeks here in April 2012. Fab for people with small family members. Cleaning almost every day and were happy to change the towels or bed linen even if it wasn't due. Kids club was good if your child was a joiner, ours was a little shy so it didnt work out so well and they also didn't stick to the schedule provided. The pool was starting to warm up so come the summer it should be just perfect. Hotel also provides towels for the pool or beach once you pay a refundable deposit of €10 euro per towel so no need to bring your own. They also have an industrial washer and dryer which you can use for €3 per wash and per dry, which means you don't have to bring as much with youIt is not near a nice beach but they do provide a shuttle bus from 11 - 3.30 every day for €2 per person. Beach is fab and very clean and clear for swimming. Beds and umberellas are €3 each per day which can add up to a lot. The main strip for food and shopping is a 10 min slowish walk. But the Marina which had better food was 2.6km, we did it every night there and back with a 5 year old. So many shops on the way you don't realize how far you have actually walked. The water park (Baku) is directly across the road from the hotel which is great but a few of the other attractions in the area ave been closed for a few years. The apartments were spacious even if the decor was a little dated. Great mini golf which the adults seemed to enjoy just as much as the kids. All the kids facilities (kids club, kids pool, playground) are all in the one area which is very convenient.

Over all we loved it and would recommended to our friends.

Top Tip: Definitely eat in Temple and Fazzs restaurants down near the Marina. BZH is also great but closed until September as the owner is having a baby. There is also a great kids playground just around the corner, one street back from the Marina or almost directly in front of Temple restaurant for the locals which is wonderful for tiring the kids out before the meal and the best playground around.

Excellent Hotel - Above Average – But Dull

I have nothing negative to say about the accommodation at Las Marismas Hotel. The one bed apartment was very spacious. Excellent kitchen, bathroom two cooking rings, microwave, toaster, kettle and pots pans, plates etc. They advertised a heated pool, but all 3 pools were cold and as you would expect were empty most of the time. Great play area for kids. Staff were nice and very helpful.

The hotel caters mostly for German tourists, and as was mentioned in earlier reviews there are lots of TV channels in Spanish and German, only 2 English channels both World News. It would have been nice to have a selection of channels in English especially for families with young children that may not be going out at night. Night entertainment was rubbish.

If you are looking for a very quiet holiday with good accommodation then this is the place for you. Overall I found the Las Marismas was dull, lacked atmosphere.

Top Tip: I Recommend:

Rosie O’Gradies Irish Pub in the old town is well worth a visit, had 2 great nights there. Live music both nights and a great atmosphere. Didn’t eat there myself but there were lots of families eating on both nights and the dishes looked very good. Most bars in town close around 1 – 1.30 a.m. but Rosie’s stays open till late. It’s owner, a mad Irish woman that occasionally jumps on the bar and dances is lovely.

Tony Roma’s American style diner, the food was very good. Try Baby Back Ribs.
