basic hotel but a lot better than i expected. it was v central so i was worried we might not sleep with the traffic outside. However, we slept like babies, the beds were so comfortable! the room was spacious and very clean. the rubber strip on the door of the fridge was broken and kept flopping down if i opened it. however, we didnt need the fridge so this was not a problem. for the price, this hotel was a gem. we will definately return. one little itsy bitsy bug bear of mine though is - i like to see Irish staff on the frontline. saying that, those we met were very courteous and professional.

We arrived on the Thursday late afternoon early evening, the guy on the desk just looked at me and my friend as we struggled with our luggage, I was on crutches and we had brought a wheelchair with us for some form of ease. He just looked at us didn't offer to help at all. Never even smiled, asked if we had a good journey over, gave any recommendations of where to go what to go and see/do etc.......very very miserable!!

We were on the 2nd floor and they did offer to move people around to accommodate me on the first, however i declined as I could work the stairs with the crutches. The room was basic, one double bed, one single, hair dryer tea/coffee facilities and an en-suite. En-suite was very old, could have definitely been re-vamped. The basin had been previously broken and silicone'd on - just looked shabby.

If all your after is some where to sleep and a place local to the city center - perfect.

The breakfast was amazing! Waitresses couldn't be more helpful!!

My only remark was the bathroom could have been re-vamped & the guy on the front desk could have smiled!!

Top Tip: Cracking pub was the Parnell Heritage Bar, almost across the road from the Kingfisher, the guys were very welcoming and helpful!

Excellent location.
Very helpful staff
We paid in advance for breakfast but on Sunday the restaurant next door doesn't open 'til 9.00am and and as we were booked on a coach for trip at 9.00 that was too late. The receptionist said we could use the voucher (8 euro's each) in the restaurant when we come back. we did and order two toasted chese and ham sandwiches and chips and two glasses of wine. It meant we would owe them 4 euros, which they said was fine. But when we came to pay for the bill they wanted us to pay full price for the wine which meant we would have been 12 euros out of pocket.

I explained this was not made clear by our receptionist or their waiter when we ordered. They did not persue it further and apologised. They were very polite and I explained that had I known we could not have early breakfast (between 8-9 am)I wouldn't have paid for it in advance in the first place.

The room was too small for a double and a single bed and it didn't need a cooker.

Top Tip: Every thing was within walkable distance - shops, pubs, and restaurants
Enjoyed the Guinness Store.

Tokk an excellent all day tour to Wicklow
