Immaculately clean throughout. Staff couldn't do enough for us, attentive to our every need and happy and smiling with it.
Food was very good and reasonably priced, whether restaurant, pool-side or room service Breakfast was a little limited for European tastes.
Pool was superb and scrupulously clean - congrats to the pool boy.
Standard rooms were of a high standard with satellite, DVD, 37" TV, phone, Air Conditioning, ceiling fan, digital safe, mini bar/fridge and tea making facilities all included in room rate.
Bathroom was also to a very high standard with shower/bath and bidet spray and high quality fittings.
Bed was extremely comfortable and consisted of two 4ft mattresses together giving an 8ft by 6'6" double.
I noticed wheel chair users are not catered for as there are 3 steps up to enter reception and 2 steps down to pool and lawn areas plus a further step to ground floor rooms. To be fair, that seems to be the case throughout India. There are no lifts to 1st floor.
In conclusion I would happily return to this hotel and don't understand why it is only given 3 stars - I have been in many 5 star hotels which do not attain the standards of the Casa De Goa.

Top Tip: The immediate Calangute area does not seem to possess the quality of restaurants to be found in Candolim and Baga areas. Everyone has their preferences but, on this visit, mine were the 'East Meets West' and 'Under The Stars' in the Baga area and 'Rising Wave' and 'Angara' both Beach Rd area Candolim and an old favourite 'The Stone House' Fort Aguada Rd, Candolim.

Wonderful hotel complex with excellent staff, very attentive service ,good restaurant food , nice pool.10 min walk from beach and town centre.
More sun beds are needed as is a little background music in the evening as most people eat around the pool.
If you like a downstairs room directly beside the pool we had room 213 with sun beds right outside which was great also 214 .
Hotel will be happy to change your room if you are not happy.
Villas are Located across the road, however you will have to come across for you breakfast and other meals.
Great BBQ Friday and Tuesday at the hotel with live music however like most fish in Goa it is overcooked

Top Tip: Taxi driver Angelo can be found outside the hotel if you ask he is a very safe driver.
Tibetan kitchen situated left of the busy roundabout down a slight alley quiet safe serves excellent dishes would recommend the lemon butter fish and the sizzling sea food.
Worst meal was at the Cassandra which is opposite the Tibetan kitchen.
Beware of the kingfisher beer as it contains a lot of glycerin to preserve it which can leave an oily taste in your mouth.
Great value silver jewellery at the Tibetan Market.
Would recommend kola beach overnight excursion for a deserted beach.
Bring a little flash lamp for walking up to the main area.
If you want to go on the river boat overnight you must book early.
5 min up the road you will find Nick's bookshop on the left he has every author you might need for very little and will give you a refund if you return the book so no need to bring your books.
Most restaurants have the same menu , kingfish is similar to swordfish.

The Casa De Goa hotel was perfect. Great location, room clean and food in the restaurant was good. Perfect location suitably near to the beach but not in the thick of all the noisy bars/ restaurants - however all of which was easily accessible to walk to. Great.

Top Tip: Best restaurant was a mere 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride away - East Meets West. Fantastic food at an unbelievably cheap price. Great ambience and all waiters and the Manager were extremely friendly. Another very good restaurant was 5 minutes walk from hotel - Retonda.

Check-in date:

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel for 13 nights during mid to late August 2007 and would strongly recommend using this hotel. We stayed in room 301, this was equiped with a strong AC, Fan, 20" TV with ~50 channels (most English speaking), double bed, balcony, frige, shower W/C etc... All very recently refurbished to high standard. The room was also very quiet most of the time unless mad dogs out on the street got in to a fight (this is India for you). Breakfast was also to high quality. The reason for not giving Excellent grading is that the staff spoke very little English and we always had to request any order twice and a cup of coffee sometimes took 30 minutes to arrive. Room service was always quick though.
