The Carlton Hotel is situated at the foot of the famous Fishermen's Basin and the romantic Castle Quarter. The city's central business and shopping districts are close to the hotel. The hotel has an excellent, central but quiet location and offers the best in modern comfort. The hotel boasts 95 bedrooms which are all equipped with air conditioning, television, telephone and minibar.

“ This was an excellent location for all of the sites of Budapest. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good variety. The room if small was very clean, but you dont spend much time in the rrom anyway. Would reccomend this hotel highly for stays in Budapest . Will return again.
“ Top Tip: Great little restaurent down the steps and to the right for good Hungarian food.

“ Carlton at Budapest was excllent breakfast was very substantial and reception staff very very helpful, there is an excellent restaurant to the left down a few steps well worth a visit with a freaindly bar by turning right at the bottom,
“ Top Tip: spa baths are a must with outside pool whilst snowing is highly recommended, people very freindly.

The hotel was clean, modern and of a good general standard. It was also finishing off some refurbishment during my stay and when completed it had a new breakfast dining area which was very to a high standard.
The food at breakfast (although I only had it twice) was fresh and plentiful. Staff were on hand to re-fill/ replenish as necessary.
The 24 hour reception staff were very helpful and polite, even when rolling in at the early hours of the morning in a drunken state (I was there as part of a Stag Do, but we seemed to be the only one's). Indeed they could not help enough when recommending restaurants to eat in or sights to visit.
The location of the hotel is not a great walking distance (1-2km) from the main shopping district and then into the centre of the city, so is well situated if you don't mind walking for 10 or 15 minutes.
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience in the Carlton Hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Budapest without wanting to spend a lot of money on accommodation.
“ Top Tip: Take a right out of the hotel doors. Right again on the street and keep walking up the hill. Towards the top (before the steps to the castle on the hill) and on the right hand side is a small, modern restaurant serving local cuisine of superb quality and at an average price. Due it's size it can fill up quickly but is well worth trying to get into as it's a gem!
