We have just returned from a week staying at the Grand Rotana and have had a fabulous time. We had never visited Egypt before. Our main reason was to get away from the weather here and to relax. We were not disappointed from the moment we arrived to our departure we were treated with the upmost respect. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. The facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard. Our room was in block 7 which is a few minutes walk from the main lobby. The A la carte restaurants were great and you can go as many times as you want and Palms grill and the Italian are great for lunch. The main buffet restaurant is ok plenty of choice but our favourite was Silk road. A mix of Chinese Indian and Thai food (we went 3 times and each time food was a treat. We used the Bodylines gym most days and there is a variety of equipment which will keep most people occupied (including my fitness enthusiast boyfriend), the steam and sauna were great too. The pool is fantastic it took a while to warm up but was lovely when it got too hot sunbathing. The cold flannels brought round by one of the pool guys were welcome too. All in all would I go back to Grand Rotana YES just trying to work out when we can go back. Staff who were great too many to name but a few Mohammed on concierge desk. Ramadan in Ramses restaurant and Ibrahim in Isis bar. Thank you all for a great week.

Top Tip: Make sure you go snorkelling off of the pier ,the reef and the fish you will see are amazing. The shuttle bus to Naama bay is great if you want a few hours shopping and feel up for the bartering, it can be a bit overwhelming with everyone wanting you to visit their shop but well worth the experience.

We stayed for one week. Staff were friendly and obliging. Rooms were clean and in a good state of repair. Pool was great for the children with the slide and music. Kids club was also ok. Night entertainment was fair but could make more of this by use of the theatre on the beach front. Water sports and the horse riding trip were also great that can be easily arranged on the hotel site. Enjoyed the spa facilities also very relaxing. Plan to go again as was very peaceful and just what we were looking for.

Top Tip: Try the Diving if you have never done this it was great.

Fantastic hotel and food was out of this world!! The only negative point is that when I booked the hotel, I was aware it had a Dine A Round service (i.e when you pay Half Board you are given an allowance towards the other restaurants so that you can eat where you want but without having to pay full price) Upon checking in the receptionist, when questioned by me, said that the service had been suspended within the last week due to the fact that the hotel had just started offering an Ultra All Inclusive basis. When I enquired as to how much this would cost per person per night, I was told it would be an extra £75 pppn!!!! I told them I wasnt happy about it but they told me to fill in a comment card and take it to reception the next morning and they would pass it to the Hotel Manager. I did this, and can honestly say that I never heard anything back!!!! Now that's customer service for you!!!! Shame because it is a lovely hotel

Top Tip: There is a Creperie on the beach just a bit further up from the big manmade jetty!! We noticed this on the way out of the hotel so we didnt get chance to use it!!!

Lovely staff
Amazing snorkelling
Very isolated so dining options other than the hotel were a good 15 minute taxi ride away
Seven days of modest lunches and dinner plus a few beers cost £900 for two people, more than the holiday!
Wifi/Internet stupid price so don't bother

Top Tip: Take snorkelling gear
Don't bother visiting Na'ama Bay, it was truly grim and lots of hassle
