“ Good for kite surfers. The hotel itself is close to Mangroovy Beach (3 minute Tuk Tuk ride) but is close enough to the restaurants for the evenings. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and big enough. The bed is enourmous (albeit too firm for my taste) the aircon isn't too noisy, so you can have it on at night. The food they serve in the hotel is amongst the best we've had in El Gouna, which is an exceedibgly high standard. Beer is about the right price (£2ish), but the spirits are outrageously expensive (£5!!). All in all, we decided this (for us as kiters) is the best and cheapest hotel in El Gouna.
“ Top Tip: If not this hotel we have used Arena Inn on numerous occasions, the advantage of this hotel over the Captain's Inn is that it's closer to 'Downtown' and the local amenities. Other than that the only other thing that separates them is the standard of food, which is much better in the Captain's Inn.

The Captain's Inn is a superb hotel. Small and friendly it gets all the important things right. Great location. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Clean. Large comfortable beds. Great A/C. Fantastic buffet breakfast.
Furthermore it pays attention to smaller details. Fridge, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities in every room. Safe in every room.TV with english channels in each room. Beach towels provided. Free pass to local private beach and adjacent hotel's pool. Great steak house restaurant for evening meals.
I couldn't have asked for more from a 5 star hotel. We will definitely return.

Tuk tuks most fun way to travel around- 50p/person each journey.
Taml Henna restaurant, Downtown ,for excellent local food and great value prices, with good service and great atmosphere.

“ Captains Inn very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Found services of the Travco rep excellent, couldn't fault them. Everyone that we had any dealings with was very helpful, always on time, on the end of a mobile phone when needed, flexible with reference to arranging payment for excursions etc. and very friendly without being pushy!
“ Top Tip: Use the tok toks everytime. Friendly and cheap. All the restaurants we tried in the Abu Tig Marina area were good but especially recomment Blue Blue cafe and restaurant - excellent and reasonably priced, plus particularly good vantage point for the Friday show. And the Moroccan restaurant - excellent food.
