The person at the reception was not professional. He kept on insisting me that I need to pay cash for the booking .Although I tried to explain to him that all the money has been payed,he was not interested in looking at the booking vouchers/papers. Luckily my son saw our name on one of the papers on the desk and so were allowed to got to our rooms. Not a good experience after a long flight.Apart from this the rooms were fine and the breakfast was also good.

found the staff awkward.. they demanded a printed out copy of the voucher, which i didnt have as I booked it using my phone a couple of days before, even though we had ID and passport. They had the booking in there hand and could see that it was us... but still made a fuss.

The swimming pool was not usable - it was too dirty.

The food was good when we had room service.

The room was ok, but all the carpets really dirty and stained.

And on checking out they charged us a extra amount but could not explain why.....

Top Tip: Great view of the Pyramids from the rooms and the terrace cafe

Well positives the staff could not do enough we were waited on hand and foot when we were in the hotel. The room was tired to say the least beds clean and comfortable the door at the window falling apart but not an issue as we were on the 10th floor the information on your web site is entirley misleading there are no balconys faceing the pyramids but the veiw of the pyramids is very impressive, there is no mini bar in fact there is no bar of any discription as this is an Islamic hotel and does not sell alcohol at all so if like us you like a drink befor and a brandy after dinner forget it ,there was no car park either. In fairness the hotel was very cheap but the next time i will pay extra and expect the information to be correct .Once again the staff were very good and perhaps there are better rooms and bathrooms (as that was allso in need of TLC) in the hotel .visitors to Eygpt are few at the moment and this must be affecting maintinace so dont be put off you get what you pay for.

Top Tip: top tip if you like a drink take it with you as there are no bars only other hotels and you need to be fit to walk to them as they are not close.

I was prepared for the worst after reading other reviews of this hotel! My room was facing the pyramids so had a great view but the noise from traffic horns (it's on a main road)day and night was horrendous-couldn't sleep even with earplugs. Air conditioning didn't seem to work so after complaining and maintenance man saying i should open the window instead (!) gave up on it. Can't imagine surviving this room in the full heat of summer! Carpet was dirty and some kind of bug made a nightly appearance but bed was good and i am an animal lover so didn't care too much (i would draw the line at mice but thankfully there weren't any). Also considering the muck and sand in Egypt you can't expect anything like perfection-it's a losing battle with the desert. Bathroom rough-cowboy tiler had been at work and base of shower rusty. When using shower it flooded the floor and didn't drain away but it was liveable once you got used to it. Asked for a sink plug 3 times so i could use the sink, in the end went out and bought one for 36p. Food was good-buffet with lots of choice except a few nights when there was a set menu and had the same thing 3 times! Drinks you have to buy separate and there's no kettle in the room for doing your own. I am gluten intolerant so always have to worry about food but there was plenty of choice and i had no stomach troubles. Staff were lovely and most speak english even if its only a bit. Hotel full of all nationalities and ages. I was on 8th floor and the lifts didn't always work but there were other service lifts you could use if you couldn't manage the alternative flights of steps. I would go there again as i think the price was quite good and i'm not over fussy!

Top Tip: You can walk to the pyramids from here-to the entrance nearer the great pyramid (where you have to go to get a ticket for going in the great pyramid as they don't sell them at the sphinx entrance). It takes about 20-30 minutes but you have to cross some very busy roads (not for the faint hearted). Took me a few tries to find the best way-turn right outside hotel and cross 2 roads where buses park then over a small bridge over irrigation canal and straight on, weave way through back streets in direction of pyramids and you will manage it.
